And another busy week passed. Friday I threw a party for my birthday in Barcelona. This was a lot of fun, especially because our friends live in Barcelona or close by so this could be the last time we can do this. That sounds a bit sad, but that’s why I enjoyed it even more. We had great weather so we could use our terrace to its fullest. Heading into this weekend we ordered a lot of (big) stuff that would be hard to move with our tiny car. Like a generator, a shop vac, a ladder and a lot of wood. We already realized wood is not the choice for construction materials here, since it’s just not available and more expensive. So next time we’re going for masonry.

We grabbed a few more pallets that were on the side of the road near us in Barcelona, but carrying these I pulled some muscle in my back. And since I had to work Saturday morning Thomas had to get the van and fill it from the stores where we ordered the big goods. The first place he visited didn’t have the order ready, because the panels of wood were not available. In the end he had them find some alternatives. But since most of this was left over we’re going to have to puzzle the outhouse together. When Thomas loaded up the van we could finally leave late afternoon, so we arrived late.

We still had to unload the van, since we didn’t have a lot of time to return it the next day. So after this it was finally time for dinner. We had left over chili from my birthday, so we dug into it with nachos and rice. We both thought it tasted a bit weird, very sweet and basically no other flavour. Being tired and hungry might be messing with our senses, we thought, so we ate it with a lot of nachos. Until I got very nauseous and Thomas didn’t feel that good either, Thomas suddenly saw the jar and realized this was my home made jam. Last week we got a big bag of fruit from our neighbour and turned it into a jam (that was the colour of chili). So after laughing most of the belly ache away we inflated our air mattress and still had a good night.
The next day we woke up early again, still no curtains. But we had all the time to put the shop vac and generator together, having enough time to get the van back. The speed limit is quite a bit lower for a van, but it was an enjoyable ride. We sat in the front with Luna and she alternated between sleeping between us and looking out enjoying the scenery.

We made it with minutes to spare, but after we put the keys in the vault (since it’s Sunday and the office was closed) Thomas realized his wallet was still in the van. But I heard some noise so Thomas knocked and not long after they gave us the keys and we were on our way home with the subway.
Awesome! Makes me very happy to see that you are able to go forward and help to make this planet a better place. It’s inspiring for sure. I wish you lots of success in the new journey. And hey, next time consider labeling the jam pot. Hahaha.
